Attacus Atlas Moth
Whao, what an eyeful right!
The centre gAL is the largest species of moth
Loy & I spotted a male one, slightly daintier than the male, on our way to collect leaves for his.. well, pets.

This one!
I forgot to take a picture of it before it's viciously manhandled away from the brick walls. You see, the way to hold a butterfly/moth is by pinching both wings into one. Attacus Atlas Moths' origins are of the jungles of Malaysia.
Wingspan 8" at the largest , and 7" tall. Hence, the name atlas. I found a webpage selling 'bugs-in-boxes" and this Moth was up there to, selling at 89 bucks!

This is where the Attacus Atlas breaks free from!
and it's hanging in loy's room as deco, what right..Loy collects these moths and butterflies and whatnots to make them into specimen for frame-ups. 'Hobby', he says. The following videos are some messed up steps to involve before you make your fresh butterfly into an enthralling deco.
Before Freezing
You got to fold an A4 size paper in halves and 'smash' the wings into the half.then paperclip it.
While Big Moth is in the Freezer..
That's another one of Loy's butterflies, almost ready to enter a display frame. The clip shows how the butterfly was initially pinned down to position its wings flat in the most flattering manner. So once the pins are removed, it stays that way forever. Sometimes, he makes errors in his estimations. -The butterfly's wings would cringe. He calls them 'the rejects'.
After the pins are removed, this gets into a temporary suitcase to , i think, season out or something like that. Before getting framed.
After 30mins.. (Allow to Thaw)
Out of the freezer!wait for it to thaw, you'll know when it's thawed if the moth feels all squishy again. Poke it.
After this, you pin the butterfly like what you've seen in the second vid. I dont know for exactly how long though.
Another pretty victim
This one's ready for display

Icky caterpillars
and the fresh leaves collected for them to feed on. See, the little balls at the corners, those are their manure. Cool huh?

Agitated Caterpillahz
See, they don't care even if you rear them well, give them all the juciest leaves around.

Anyway, those caterpillars will evolve into the 2nd-row-2nd-from-the-left butterfly.
Loys gonna contact me the moment they begin to emerge from its pupa. (Pupa, right?) So i can see the whole process mother nature programmed.

Male & Female of the same species

Temporary Case

Loy's new pet fish.
Happy, the fighting fish, died months back :(

Artistic pot from Ikea
You think?! Noo, Loy did that!
